used in accounting are commonly used in all areas of business. Accountants have a
key role in conveying relevant financial information to different users. The importance
and impact of accounting information to business and related industries provides many
career opportunities in the accounting field. Accountants help the nation鈥檚 firms
run more efficiently and keep their public records more accurate.

Welcome to the Accounting Assistant program at Cowley College. Our program prepares students for careers in accounting by introducing them to the basics of accounting and the use of computers for accounting and office applications.
In our program you鈥檒l learn the fundamentals of accounting and develop your computer skills to perform accounting and general office functions in the fastest time possible. You鈥檒l be ready to work as a trainee or entry level accountant with excellent academic credentials.
If you鈥檙e interested in developing your business skills further, DECA student club is a great place to start. DECA provides you with opportunities to learn and apply marketing, finance and finance-related skills, as well as hospitality and accounting skills. You鈥檒l also have the opportunity to apply for scholarships and financial aid to further your education and career.
